Yeah! Exactly!

[ She says, relief evident that she’s being understood. And oh hey! She’s being offered tea and coffee! ]

Uh yeah… I’ll steal some coffee if you don’t mind.

[ She sidles up to the table, pouring herself a small cup. Black. ]

But uh yeah… any thoughts about… all this?

[Any thoughts. Sarah looks very amused for a moment.]

Oh plenty. Most of them I probably shouldn't voice in the Emperor's own home though.

[She's a brazen woman with her talk of leaving Stars side but she's smart enough not to speak of it out loud here of all places.]

Oh… Oh! Right! I am so sorry.

[ Right right right. The walls have ears and all that. ]

Just… still getting used to all this.

[ She finishes lamely, pulling down her mask and taking a sip of her coffee so she has an excuse to stop talking. ]

[Sarah waves a hand dismissively, settling back in her chair and taking hold of her teacup again.]

Don't apologize. It's a lot to adjust to even without all the famine and snow and so on. You sitting here having a somewhat sane conversation with me is a big accomplishment after all of that.

[ Coraline follow Sarah's cue and takes a seat as well, clutching the cup of coffee as if it's a lifeline. ]

Haha yeah... least I can like, do I guess. I'm sure I'll be a blubbering mess in like... 2 days or something idk.

[ She takes another sip, praying that it's taken as the joke it (mostly) is. ]

[A sharp, amused exhale of breath flows right out of Sarah, her lips quirking at one edge.]

Hey after all of that, we all sort of deserve some blubbering time if you ask me.

[ She smiles at that, glad that Sarah understood. ]

Yeah... hopefully whatever Temperance and her cul-- followers have planned is gonna like, take a while. We all need a break and time to plan and shit.

[ She sighs slightly, gazing out at the others around them. Christ... ]

Oh uh... I wasn't kidding about the helping with research thing by the way. Just point me in a direction and I'll like, do my best?

Hopefully. Considering how everything has sort of cascaded on top of one another so far though...

[Well. The tilt of Sarah's head and the sort of side-eye she turns over the top of her cup speaks volumes.

She sobers up quickly though at the offer of help, quirking a grin.]

I appreciate that. I'll be honest, my aims right now are... sort of high and I don't have any idea really where to start.

[That's not the complete truth since she does think the druids ought to be able to help some but yeah, she can't exactly talk about that just yet.]

I want to figure out how to save Fellden. Personally I don't believe any world has to die. Maybe that's a little foolish but whatever, I've been a fool for far worse things.

I can dream. [ She says glumly, unaware of the future looming before them all. Press F my dudes.

But moving on. Helping. With this supremely big task. Christ. She never thought she’d miss writing like 3 essays in one night, but here she is. ]

I mean… I don’t think it is? Like I do think most things kinda… end sooner or later. But Idk… doesn’t feel like it’s time yet if that makes like, any sense… and it’s worth a shot anyways. Better to try and fail than to just be like.

[ She makes a vague gesture that’s meant to represent the “guess I’ll die” mindset which while is a mood, isn’t particularly productive. Especially when there are other lives on the line. ]

[Sarah makes an amused sound with that vague gesture of Coraline's.]

It's definitely better than doing nothing, that's for sure. If you come across anything related to restoring magic to this world or even figuring out what started causing it's decline in the first place, I'd love to hear all about it.
