If you'd like to potentially be killed on sight, by all means.

[ It's not that Neria believes the Priestess is some murderous, bloodthirsty monster who is intent on seeing all of the Stars die but...realistically, someone from another faction storming their halls is not going to be seen favorably. ]

I understand wanting to hear all sides of the argument but rushing off isn't the right answer.

[inho meeting his doom based on a foolhardy decision would be so very on point for him... good thing Neria is here to Intervene.]

Then what is the right answer? [tell him he's bad at guessing] Look, it's not like I'm going to charge straight up to the priestess and demand for answers.

[everything about Inho points to the contrary, the way his hands clench into fists and just the overall restless air he's exuding. he was 100% about to do this very thing,]

I'll go waving a white flag! Or I'll just hide my tattoo and pretend I'm a moon person or whatever.

I don't believe there is a right answer, not right now, not in this moment. And at this point, I don't think a white flag will matter any more than you throwing yourself in the dirt and asking clemency. You heard the Emperor. Too many atrocities have been committed.

[ Too much has happened. Too many mistakes, too much bloodshed.

Neria watches his fist clench, watches him look as if he might jump out of his skin. Very carefully, she reaches out to touch his shoulder. ]

This is not the be-all and end-all. In this moment, we have not been asked to decide anything.

[Inho jumps a little at her touch, but maybe it's just that magical -- or maybe Neria's sensible words are finally getting through his undoubtedly thick skull, because all he does is suck in his breath and let it out again, shoulders sagging.]

...Yeah. But it's like... what do we even do until then? [he's sure someone who's actually fought in a war before would know what to do, but like... what does he know?] Who else here will tell us anything more than the emperor did?

[ The moment he seems to tense and jump, she withdraws her hand, not wanting to harm him or push into his personal space if that is uncomfortable for him. She doesn't appear particularly upset by it, even if she's concerned. ]

I have hope that the people in the Court might be able to tell us more. If not...perhaps people in Kyst.

[ But in truth, she thinks they will need to go further than that, perhaps to the deities or to others who may have lived since the start of the war. ]
