Thus, he's parked himself in front of a stall selling mittens and scarves and is carefully selecting the best pair in order to properly garb Morgan's exalted figure. (Because he is of exalted lineage and therefore must wear only the best—)
His attention's caught by the figure next to him, slight and slender and wearing far too little considering the temperature. He frowns and butts in, unable to help himself. ]
Certainly you don't plan on traipsing through town wearing only that?
[ ORCHID....please put on some clothes. ]

She sticks out in the crowd and although she can feel a bit of a chill, she doesn't seem too bothered.
also what is gbf golem physiology anyway...Just when she's about to keep walking past the stall and seek out where she might be needed, she pauses. ]...mm. Is there something wrong with that?
[ Yeah, she's gonna keep walking around like this. Sure. ]
no subject
What is GBF golem physiology, truly. In any case, there is SO MUCH wrong with it that Frederick's frown deepens even further as a look of mild horror crosses his face. ]
Why, plenty of course. Without proper protection from the elements, there's no telling what illnesses might afflict your body. Sneezing, coughing, fever--you could be bedridden for days.
[ And they're in the middle of a WAR here, they can't laze around for days. Also, she'll probably feel terrible and then he would feel terrible. ]
no subject
She shakes her head and tries to reassure him. With the way he's frowning at her though, she's not sure if she can be convincing enough. ]
I feel fine. You won't have to worry about me.
no subject
Perhaps you feel fine now, but what of in twenty minutes? An hour?
[ Worrying Intensifies. ]
At least consider purchasing a scarf to warm your neck and hands with. If funds are a problem, I'll happily purchase one for you.
no subject
It's okay. I'll buy it.
[ When she agrees, it's at that moment she realizes she's not carrying any money on her. She should have put better thought in her answer. ]
...
[ Nevermind. Allowing him to make the purchase is making her feel worse, even if he's so willing to help her out. ]
I don't have money.
no subject
Well, despite this setback, Frederick is more than happy to press on, ready to take any available route in getting this girl some more clothes even if it means taking a few coins from his own pocket. ]
Allow me.
[ He steps up to the table, ready to grab a scarf—and then freezes because it's at that point he realizes he has no idea of this girl's preferences. ]
Though perhaps you should select one? I would hate to buy a pattern you were displeased with.
[ Don't girls like looking cute and all that? ]
no subject
Her eyes scan the table, before eventually setting her sights on... a plain black scarf. There really nothing special-looking or "cute" about this particular scarf. Still, it matches the rest of the color scheme that she typically wears. Dark colors remind her of Apollo. And Lloyd. ]
...I would like that one.
no subject
In any case, it looks warm, soft, and that's what matters.
The transaction itself is quick, a simple exchange of coins for the scarf, which he then presents to Orchid. ]
All yours, milady.
[ Not that he knows if she's of noble birth or a commoner, but best to be polite in all situations. ]
Though forgive me for saying, but I'm surprised you'd pick such a color.
[ Has he misjudged the likes of girls all this time.... ]
no subject
Thank you. And my name isn't "milady". It's Orchid.
[ Calmly providing a minor correction, not in any way offended. She just prefers to be called by the name her "sister" gave her. Being related to the Queen, perhaps she would be of noble birth in a way. ]
...Surprised?
[ She looks mildly confused. How is it surprising? ]
no subject
[ Hmm, that's definitely still using milady...but old habits are hard to break and he's been around the royal family too long to quit now. At least he's using her name along with the title. ]
As for the question... [ how to put it ] I was led to believe by a ward of mine that many girls preferred items and accessories in bright colors and patterns.
no subject
Bright colors and patterns are nice too, I think. But dark colors... they remind me of a friend.
[ Time has stopped in their worlds, yet she still wonders how Apollo's been doing after taking off. ]
no subject
He doesn't pry more, not wanting to disturb the hint of fondness he thinks he glimpses in her eyes. ]
In that case, why don't we also pick out a scarf for your friend? Even if they aren't here, I'm certain they would appreciate the thoughtfulness were they to arrive one day in the future.
[ Besides, he has some money leftover, and there's no more noble cause than aiding a friend in need. ]
no subject
A thoughtful pause, before she answers. ]
I... want to get a matching scarf for her.
[ A black scarf for the Black Knight. And the more in debt she feels towards this stranger. ]
no subject
[ Especially since there's nothing easier to match to than a black scarf. Black on black on black....not a theme he's particularly into himself, but then again he doesn't know who he's buying it for.
Maybe he'll get to meet this mysterious her though. ]
Is this friend of yours here with you?
no subject
[ It doesn't help having that Orchid also made it her purpose to travel alone, to keep the Queen's kingdom safe. Even after all is said and done in Fellden, who knows when she can returns. ]
But I... promised her I would think of something to give her when she comes back. Something for her to look forward to.
[ That's a little more words shared than what she usually says. It's evident how much this friend means to her. ]
no subject
His own tone softens as he looks down at her. ]
I'm certain she'll be more than happy to receive this gift from you.
[ He would be, if he were in this person's shoes. ]
I'm also certain she'll want to make sure you take care of yourself.
[ So no freezing! ]
no subject
...of course.
[ Not just Apollo. She has to give credit to Queen Orchis, the Captain, Lyria, Io, and the others aboard the Grandcypher for allowing her to exist. They gave her this life and she can't be so careless with it. Though she often thinks that she would give her entire self up if she ever has to... ]
Thank you, for your help... [ A pause. ] You haven't given me your name. I would like to repay you someday.
no subject
Ah, my apologies. My name is Frederick of Ylisse, though as of late it would be more accurate to say I am of the Moon Temple.
[ Them factions, yo. ]
Please feel free to call upon me any time you require assistance.
[ And he will come running! ]
no subject
[ A pause. Moon Temple is supposed to be the opposing side, but she hasn't had any prior qualms conversing with others of that faction.
Black Knight would've probably been part of Moon too...]I'm of the Court of Stars.
[ Might be kind of hard to come running for her, unless they're in neutral territory! ]
no subject
[ It slips out before he can stop himself, a single syllable of disappointment. Not that he holds too much stock in the idea of enemies based purely on faction, but the war has been going on for far longer than he's been here, and he knows so little of the situation at hand. ]
I suppose it might be difficult for me to run into the court of the Stars, but we can always meet up here if needed.
[ The neutral territories are here for a reason! ]
